New Book Release – Sharing Stories on Our Autism Journey

June is a great month. It official marks summer break from school, as well as the first day of Summer. It is also my birth month, which is why I decided to publish The Road I’ve Traveled on my birthday.

The Road I’ve Traveled is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Its official release date will be on the 19th of June.

I absolutely love the cover. The anchor represents my time in the Navy. The color blue represents my love of the ocean, as well as autism awareness.

The Road Ive Traveled

The Road I’ve Traveled is a compilation of poems and short stories Jennifer wrote during moments of her life where she felt the need to get it all out. She writes about being in the Navy during the tragedies of 9/11, having to deploy to New York where she and her shipmates stayed in New York’s harbor for three weeks, guarding the coastline in hopes of preventing any further attacks.

She writes about loss, love, heartbreak, family. You can see the fondness she had for her grandfather as she includes a heartfelt eulogy she had written moments after his passing.

She also writes about being a single mom, as well as a mom to a child who is on the autism spectrum. The journey they have endured together has been bumpy, but they continue to plow through life, learning about autism and sensory processing disorder as they go.

The Sorcerer’s Curse is Now Live on Amazon

I am also happy to announce that the second book in The Mummy’s Curse Mini-SeriesThe Sorcerer’s Curse is now live and available for purchase on Amazon. It is also available on Kindle Unlimited. The final book in the Mini-Series is coming along and will be ready for its release on the 18th of July.

The Sorcerers Curse

Things were going well for me and Serkhet, or so I thought. I had graduated from college and received my bachelor’s degree, which was a momentous occasion, but it was trumped by Serkhet’s second marriage proposal. This time, it was more romantic. I was glowing with happiness, but it didn’t last long. Everything started to go downhill after Serkhet asked for us to move to Egypt. Maybe he was just homesick. But I started to notice things. I thought the curse was broken or maybe I was just starting to see who Serkhet really was. Then, I met a man who calls himself the sorcerer. He offered me a chance to change events in my past, putting me on a different path. A way to alter my future. Would Serkhet go back to being the man I knew him as, or would I decide to take the sorcerer’s offer?

If you haven’t purchased the first book, The Mummy’s Curse, you will be able to find it by clicking on that same Amazon link. You’ll be able to find it under the blurb.

Steamy Paranormal Romances

After putting my child to bed Saturday night, I had decided to stay up late to work on one of my WIPs (Works0In-Progress), the next book in my Sanctuary SeriesClaimed by the Bear.
I was eager to see it finished! Once I sat down to write, the words just kept on rolling! I love moments like those. Sadly, I didn’t finish it writing the story. However, I’m coming closer to adding the final words to Claimed by the Bear. It is scheduled to be released in September of this year. If you haven’t read the first book in my Sanctuary SeriesClaimed by the Alpha, it’s available on Amazon.

I am also working on finishing up the next book in The Mummy’s Curse three book mini-series. I had the cover for the first one re-done and think it looks really awesome! I went ahead and had the cover made for the second book, The Sorcerer’s Curse, which is going to be released late this fall.

The Mummy’s Curse was originally a one book thing. I meant for it to be a short story, but some of my readers had spoken out, letting me know that they thought the book was really hot and wanted more of the story, wanted more of the main characters. So, more is what they are going to get!
After I had taken some time to think about how I wanted the rest of the story to go, I sat down and wrote out an in-depth outline, turning it into a 3 book mini-series. I added onto the first book, turning a short story into a novella and it’s now ready to be read on Amazon.
Now, I am working hard on finishing the 2nd and 3rd books and plan to have them published back to back. I am almost finished with the second book.
Some people have asked how I manage to work on more than one writing project at the same time. I answered this in a blog post, which can be read here.

One Year Publishing Anniversary

It’s been one whole year since I had published my first novel, Chaos. I decided to do something to celebrate. I lowered the ebook price to $0.99 on Amazon.

I would lower the paperback price, too, but Amazon wouldn’t allow that due to printing cost.

So, if you haven’t been able to download a copy to your Kindle yet, now is your chance. In a few days, the price will be going back up.

Two sisters find themselves in a magical world of supernatural creatures and a book that just might send them on a path to find their destiny.

It is the lack of having supernatural abilities that makes Noelle a non-believer. Anya, her younger sister, believes in almost everything, and tries her best to change Noelle’s view of the world, including reminding her they are part shifter.

It isn’t until one morning during a ride into work with her uncle, the town sheriff, when Noelle begins to question her disbelief in all things supernatural. She has a premonition which sends her and Anya on a quest to find a book that may lead to their destiny. A destiny that takes them through a portal into the Faerie realm.

If you love books about magical faeries, shifters, and werewolves which also includes mystery, action, and adventure then this is the book for you!

Supporting Other Indie Authors

support indies

I’ve been reviewing books on Amazon and Goodreads for indie authors for a few years now, I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of blogging about them.

So, I decided to try something different. Being an indie author myself, I know how hard it is to get the word out there when it comes to promoting and marketing my work. There are a lot of ways to market your work, yet most of them are out of the budget range, especially if you are just starting out which means you can only promote your work here or there.

With that said, I decided to create a blog where I will post my indie book reviews, as well as author interviews for any indie author out there looking into promoting their published works or looking into building their online presence.

I know there are quite a few book bloggers already out there, but one more couldn’t hurt, right?

It’s FREE marketing!

It’s FREE, which means I’m not charging anyone to market their books. If you are an indie author and think you are interested, check out my blog here. Or, if you are looking for something interesting to read, visit my blog and click follow.

Today is National Autism Awareness Day

autism awareness

Today is National Autism Awareness Day, but to some of us, this is every day. However, I always wear blue on this day in support of my daughter who has autism, along with a long list of other spectrum related disorders.

For the past few years, there has been a controversy going around on Autism Speaks. Whether you support them or not, I believe you should spread the awareness on autism itself. Become a voice for someone who has autism. Educate yourself and spread awareness.

Fact: 1 out of 59 kids are diagnosed with autism. There is NO cure. However, there should be acceptance and not ignorance.

The End of the Mayan’s World, Not Ours

I love reading post about how ‘The World is Going to End on 21 Dec 2012’. Honestly, I don’t believe in that…that’s my “opinion” and I’m sticking to it.

There are just too many “glitches” in the whole ‘Mayan Prophecy’. How could you believe in a race that couldn’t foresee their demise? According to pbs.org, “Scholars find the Mayan hieroglyphics too complex to even understand.” If the Mayan Calendar was even read correctly, maybe the Mayan’s stopped at 21 December 2012 for many reasons. One, the surrounding tribes were at war with one another. Two, they stonemason that carved the Mayan calendar died and no one wanted to begin working on another calendar stone. Three, as soon as the stone was done, they all died. Four, maybe the Mayan calendar just stops at 21 December 2012 like ours stops at 31 December each year. Who knows? What is known is that they were good at math and astrology, they just sucked at predictions.

A few of my friends have said they were going to wake up in the morning, run outside in their underwear, screaming, “I’m alive, the world didn’t end!” I told them they need to film it and make sure they get their neighbors reactions too so we could all have a good laugh.

But on the not so funny part will be the endless list of crazy or stupid things that will keep the news people busy for days. I’m not sure if I even want to turn my TV on that day or the next.
