The Sorcerer’s Curse is Now Live on Amazon

I am also happy to announce that the second book in The Mummy’s Curse Mini-SeriesThe Sorcerer’s Curse is now live and available for purchase on Amazon. It is also available on Kindle Unlimited. The final book in the Mini-Series is coming along and will be ready for its release on the 18th of July.

The Sorcerers Curse

Things were going well for me and Serkhet, or so I thought. I had graduated from college and received my bachelor’s degree, which was a momentous occasion, but it was trumped by Serkhet’s second marriage proposal. This time, it was more romantic. I was glowing with happiness, but it didn’t last long. Everything started to go downhill after Serkhet asked for us to move to Egypt. Maybe he was just homesick. But I started to notice things. I thought the curse was broken or maybe I was just starting to see who Serkhet really was. Then, I met a man who calls himself the sorcerer. He offered me a chance to change events in my past, putting me on a different path. A way to alter my future. Would Serkhet go back to being the man I knew him as, or would I decide to take the sorcerer’s offer?

The Sorcerer’s Curse – On Its Last Draft Edits

The Sorcerers Curse

I have finally finished writing the story for The Sorcerer’s Curse and am currently working on last draft edits before I hand it over to my wonderful editor.

I will then start on the third and final story in The Mummy’s Curse Mini-Series, The Curse of Anubis. (Cover reveal coming soon! Keep reading to find out how you can be among those to see it long before anyone else.)

Most of The Curse of Anubis is already written as I had meant for it to be a separate story. However, I was finishing up The Mummy’s Curse when the story for The Curse of Anubis came to me.

This is the only time where I was working on two similar stories where the storylines were blending together. I pushed The Curse of Anubis back, finishing The Mummy’s Curse before publishing it, forgetting all about The Curse of Anubis … for now. I had planned to come back to it later on after giving myself time to forget about The Mummy’s Curse storyline.

This is generally a process I go through when I have problems finishing a story. I pushed it aside and work on something else, giving myself a break until the creative juices for that story begin flowing again.

It wasn’t long after I had published The Mummy’s Curse before I started receiving feedback. Yes, some authors tend to listen to reader’s feedback (reviews, messages on social media, emails, etc.), I am one of them. It’s part of the reason why I ask my readers to leave reviews after finishing a book. I actually like to know what they think. If not a review, reach out to me and let me know your thoughts. In this case, I may end up extending the story into other books.

Readers were telling me that they were wanting more of the story. They wanted to know what happened to the characters, Laney and Serkhet. They wanted a continuation of their steamy romance. They wanted to know more about the curse. They wanted to know what happened to the sorcerer.

It took some time before I sat down and came up with the outline for the second book. Then it had taken a few months before I was able to write out the story. I had other stories that I had to finish. Plus, I needed to think of how I needed Serkhet’s and Laney’s story to go.

I then pulled out The Curse of Anubis and decided that since it originally worked with The Mummy’s Curse, why not make it part of the whole story.

I had re-written parts of the story here and there on The Curse of Anubis, then added an in-depth outline to make it fit the storyline to Serkhet’s and Laney’s story. Now, to finish writing it, go through last draft edits before sending it off to my editor, too.

Since the last two stories of The Mummy’s Curse is coming together so well, it is my initial plan to publish them back to back. I haven’t come up with a publishing date just yet, however, it will be in the fall of this year.

The Mummy’s Curse Gets a Facelift

The Sorcerers Curse
Lately, I have been working on the 2nd and 3rd books in The Mummy’s Curse mini-series.
The Mummy’s Curse was originally a one book thing. I meant for it to be a short story, but some of my readers had spoken out, letting me know that they thought the book was really hot and wanted more of the story, wanted more of the main characters. So, more is what they are going to get!
After I had taken some time to think about how I wanted the rest of the story to go, I sat down and wrote out an in-depth outline, turning it into a 3 book mini-series. I added onto the first book, turning a short story into a novella and it’s now ready to be read on Amazon.
Now, I am working hard on finishing the 2nd and 3rd books and plan to have them published back to back. I am almost finished with the second book.
Now that I am getting closer to finishing the 2nd book, The Sorcerer’s Curse, I went ahead and had the covers made. The first book, The Mummy’s Curse had already been published for a while now. I thought it was time to give it a new cover. I actually like them.
The Mummys Curse
My friends and I won a trip of a lifetime to see the treasures of Egypt, You know, the pyramids, the Spinx. Our tour guide, Tarrick drives us around, showing us all the famous sites, giving us a history lesson. It was a dream come true. Until my friends asked to see the real treasure in hopes of snatching it up.

Tarrick happily complies, but there’s only one problem — the hidden treasure comes with a mummy’s curse. I didn’t want to go, but I also wanted a chance to see it from an archeological perspective.

Now, I’m staring at the one whose treasures we were disturbing. I thought mummies were supposed to look deteriorated and … dead. Why does he look like he was a sculpted god of marble and … alive? The way his hungry eyes roam my body, makes me feel entranced. He looks like he wants to devour me. Would I survive whatever he had planned to do with me?

Steamy Paranormal Romances

After putting my child to bed Saturday night, I had decided to stay up late to work on one of my WIPs (Works0In-Progress), the next book in my Sanctuary SeriesClaimed by the Bear.
I was eager to see it finished! Once I sat down to write, the words just kept on rolling! I love moments like those. Sadly, I didn’t finish it writing the story. However, I’m coming closer to adding the final words to Claimed by the Bear. It is scheduled to be released in September of this year. If you haven’t read the first book in my Sanctuary SeriesClaimed by the Alpha, it’s available on Amazon.

I am also working on finishing up the next book in The Mummy’s Curse three book mini-series. I had the cover for the first one re-done and think it looks really awesome! I went ahead and had the cover made for the second book, The Sorcerer’s Curse, which is going to be released late this fall.

Some people have asked how I manage to work on more than one writing project at the same time. I answered this in a blog post, which can be read here.

An Adult Soft Romance

Ranchers Daughter cover

Rancher’s Daughter is an adult soft romance novella. It’s available for purchase on Amazon, or check it out on Kindle Unlimited.

Everything was going great for Megan; she had her own ranch which she had inherited from her father, her own ranch hand, and an uncle who would always be there for her. It wasn’t until a magazine journalist visited to write about life in the ranch when Megan realized that something was missing. He was charmingly handsome and had a contagious smile, but could she fall in love with a city boy, or would she let an incident from her past keep her from completely tearing down the wall she built around her heart?

An Alpha Werewolf Romance

Claimed by the Alpha

Claimed by the Alpha is a steamy paranormal werewolf romance. It’s available for purchase on Amazon, or check it out on Kindle Unlimited.

All Gemma wanted to do was get away from werewolf politics and her dominant, alpha father, who had done nothing but control her life. She wanted nothing more than to be a free woman and not be forced to marry another controlling male. When she ran off to the other side of the country, she didn’t think that she would be running into another dominant alpha male, Aiden. He shows nothing but distaste toward her. She would leave, but she’s financially strapped and has nowhere else to go. It would also seem that wherever she goes, he’s there.

Aiden had tasked his brother John to hire an assistant for their company, giving him strict rules not to hire a woman. So, it came as a surprise when John went against Aiden’s requests and hired Gemma. One sniff of her and Aiden is having a hard time controlling not only his temper, but the urge to shift. There is something about her that stirs his wolf. But he doesn’t figure out what it is until another alpha wolf comes into his territory and takes Gemma.

Will Aiden come after her, or will he let her go? Will Gemma finally concede to live life among the wolves, or will she run again?

Publisher’s Note: Claimed by the Alpha is a stand-alone book in the Sanctuary Series. They can be read in any order. They are also HEA guaranteed, no cheating. This book contains a hot, demanding alpha wolf with a penchant for protecting and dominating his female. If such material offends you, do not buy this book.

Another Year, Another Book Published

It’s been a busy few months, to which I hadn’t realized it’s already April! This year has already started out great for me. I have published two more titles and will have two more books coming out this summer. Crossing my fingers that I will have two more coming out in the Fall.

The year before last, I had set some goals for myself; publish 6 titles a year, for 5 years. That includes short stories, novellas, and novels. Partially, it’s for tax purposes, but mostly, it was set as a challenge. Could I do it? Could I actually write that many books in a year? Well, it turns out, I can. or, rather, I’m getting there.

Last year started out a bit rough. However, I had switched jobs and am now happier where I am. Not only do I get paid more at my present job, but I have more time to spend with my daughter and more time to write.

Last year, I published a novel, a novella, and a short story. I had also written two more novellas, Claimed by the Alpha and Rancher’s Daughter. However, I wasn’t able to publish them until this year.

I also decided to work on lengthening The Mummy’s Curse, a short novella I had published last year. A few people told me that it was a really great story, very hot, but it was also a bit too short. I was told that it had promise had I made it longer. I listened. Not only did I lengthen it, but I am also working on making it a 3 book mini-series and plan to have the next two books in the mini-series published this Fall.

Things are looking up for me as an author, finally, and I couldn’t be more happier!

Sometimes Creativity Takes a Break

creative-cat

I often find my creativity taking a leave of absence when I’m in the middle of a writing project. I typically binge watch a TV series or spend some time at my local library looking for a good book or series, then curl up on the couch at home and read. Or, I choose a handful of books from Kindle Unlimited, filling up my Kindle. It isn’t long before my creative juices start flowing again.

For the past month, I had been working hard on three of my five works-in-progress. You’re probably thinking, “Wait a minute, you’re working on that many writing projects at the same time?” Well, yes, it’s pretty common among us writers to do that. I have ADD, so my brain can’t just focus on one thing as it’s all over the place. And being creative, I have so, so many ideas running rampant inside my head…

Anywho. I tend to get quite a bit of writing done this way. When the opportunity presents itself, why not take up on it?

Our minds need a break, just like our bodies. When we have a hard time focusing on something, it’s probably a sign that we need to take a break and let our batteries re-charge.

I often find myself stepping away from my writing. It gives me time to focus on other things. After a few days, or sometimes a week passes by, my creativity returns and I’m back to pounding out the words on the keyboard.

My Favorite Scene in Chaos

Authors often feel very passionate for their work. They have favorite characters or less favorite ones. They have favorite scenes or less favorites ones.

I do have a favorite scene in my novel, Chaos, that I would like to share with you all. It’s an important scene that takes place part of the way into Chapter 4:

As soon as her uncle got out of the car and walked toward the men, Noelle had a dream. Not just a normal daydream, but one where she felt as if she were a part of the dream. She was running through the woods, the smell of pine stronger than ever before. The ground below her felt awkward, as if she were barefoot, yet the feeling in her feet was somehow different. She glanced down; she was running on all fours.

What the … I have paws! She stopped running to ogle at herself. Paws, fur. She turned her head to examine herself further. A bushy tail? Hey, wait a second … Suddenly a different smell tickled her nose. Closing her eyes, she inhaled deeply. Oddly, she knew the smell. Opening her eyes and staring straight ahead, she watched two doe run past her. It was as if she recognized their scent and something deep inside told her she was hungry for them. She could feel the predator instinct trigger the desire to catch and kill her prey. Her mouth salivated as she let out a deep growl.

Her heart pumped faster with adrenaline as her legs moved faster with speed. She was giving it her all trying to catch up to the deer when she felt a sharp pain go through her. She surveyed her surroundings, and noticed three men in the distance … and heard repeat gunfire. Suddenly, she was not chasing the deer anymore; she was running for her life. Her heart raced in panic as she began to feel weak. Peering down, she saw blood pouring from a wound in her side. Fear set in as she realized someone shot her. The less she moved, the less she would bleed out, but she had to get away from them. Things went out of focus and then grew dim, as if the sun was setting or time was fast forwarding, turning day into night. Her lungs ached and it pained her to breathe. Her heart, which was pumping quickly moments before, had trouble keeping a steady rhythm. That could only mean one thing: she was dying.

I don’t want to die! If I die in this dream, will I die in real life? Is this really a dream? I don’t understand what’s going on. I can’t die. I won’t.

Feeling weaker with each step she took, she fought for the will to keep moving. When she felt another pain rip through her, she collapsed to the ground, blacking out, her last breath leaving her.

Noelle opened her eyes and breathed as if she was drowning. Gasping and coughing, she reached her hand up and grasped her chest. Her heart raced as if she had just run a marathon. She closed her eyes, trying to figure out what had just happened. She’d had similar dreams before, but never this vivid.

“That was wild. I’m not sure I want to do that again,” she whispered to herself.

Opening her eyes, she saw that she was all alone, and sitting inside her uncle’s patrol car. She had a strong feeling that was where she had been the entire time. Her heart slowed to a normal pace as she slowly took in the scene around her. She could see her uncle walking toward his deputy as if he had just left the car.

Did time stop? What the hell was that? So many questions ran through her mind.

She shook uncontrollably from the adrenaline pumping through her. She quickly assessed herself. No blood, no bullet holes. Thank God! I don’t know what that was, but I’m still alive! Clearly, a weird dream. She wiped a tear from her cheek and closed her eyes, drawing in deep breaths, trying to focus on what she had seen. She wanted to get out of the car and get some fresh air, but she remembered she made a promise not to leave the car. Noelle decided it was best to crack the window instead, and try her best to erase the images that flooded her mind.

Hope you enjoyed!

It isn’t until one morning during a ride into work with her uncle, the town sheriff, when Noelle begins to question her disbelief in all things supernatural.
